Residents will have until Friday, September 20 to comment on the rezoning, which will change the zoning of the four hectares of vacant land from unzoned to residential. Town of Cambridge Mayor Simon Withers said the vacant site was a prime opportunity for urban infill and it was important for the Town to create urban density to take the pressure off its established suburbs.
‘Different types of residential use will be identified as planning for the site progresses and we anticipate that the dwellings will appeal to a wide range of buyers, from young people to older residents’ Mr Withers said.
Documents explaining the proposed Scheme Amendment are available for viewing at the Town office or at their website.
