A MAN has died after falling from the roof of HBF Stadium (formerly Challenge Stadium) where he was working on Wednesday.
The incident was reported at 2pm, after the man – reported to be a scaffolder – fell 20m to the ground.
An ambulance was called to the Mount Claremont venue, and he was taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for treatment.
The man later died and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
Worksafe is investigating the incident.
HBF Stadium is being painted, and there is scaffolding over large sections of the building.
Despite the death, Wednesday night’s concert from UK band Culture Club went ahead as planned.
