FIREFIGHTERS attended a massive house fire in Floreat this morning.
Smoke was seen billowing from the home, on Katrine Street, about 8am.
The Department of fire and Emergency Services (DFES) received a Triple 0 call at 8.04am.
Neighbours reported hearing an explosion at the home.
Eleven DFES units attended the scene and by 9.11am they had contained the fire to the roof, although they were still looking for hot spots.
The family who lived in the home were all able to get out, as was the family dog.
The home recently underwent a large renovation, which was completed late last year.
Firefighters removed two cars from the house’s carport in case they were also engulfed.
Neighbours were anxious the flames would spread to their homes, but there were no reports of other damage.
