Jackie Gillies’ I’m a Celebrity experience ‘a blessing’ as she prepares for national tour

Belinda CiprianoWestern Suburbs Weekly

SHE has spent almost six weeks in the South African jungle and four seasons on Foxtel’s reality hit television the Real Housewives of Melbourne but for professional psychic medium Jackie Gillies her most important job in life is to inspire others.

Having only arrived back in Australia three days ago from her stint on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Gillies said it was an experience she’d never imagined having.

Gillies said her time on the show was one of immense personal growth – and a way she could provide funds to, and awareness of, her chosen charity, the Moira Kelly – Creating Hope Foundation.

“I was asked for a few years and I kind of didn’t know if I wanted to do it – but it was a complete blessing,” she said.

“Moira Kelly is like family to Ben (Gillies, Silverchair drummer and Gillies’ husband) and I, and I knew what $100,000 could do for the charity.

“Moira is all about assisting children and giving them that second chance, the medical attention and the love they so desperately need.

“I also wanted to experience personal growth and show people the other side to me.

“People know me from the Real Housewives but I’m a chick that grew up in Newy (Newcastle).

“My parents worked their backsides off, I wasn’t born with a silver spoon it was more like the wooden spoon – when I did something wrong.

“I think that I achieved what I was looking for and the whole experience changed my life for the good.”

Now safely on home soil, Gillies is turning her attention to her national Shine it Up tour and will visit Perth in May.

She said the tour is uplifting and fun, describing it as Tony Robbins, meets Ellen, meets John Edwards, meets Oprah all in one room.

“People can expect a fun night out with lots of self empowerment, motivation and inspiration,” she said.

“My main focus is to bring people together but also to help gain your inner purpose and restore people’s faith, peace and spark so they can shine.

“I will teach people how to manifest their lives and share my personal journey and what I’ve been through.

“How I brought positivity and peace into my life.

“You’ve got to take charge of your life and that’s what I did and continue to do.”

Profits from all booking and payment fees will be donated to the Moira Kelly Creating Hope Foundation.
