WA quick Jason Behrendorff made his long awaited return to the bowling crease for Subiaco Floreat during day one of round 13 in Premier Cricket on Saturday.
Behrendorff, who hasn’t played for more than two months because of a fractured fibula, bowled 10 overs and finished with 1-33 but it was Midland-Guildford’s day at Lilac Hill.
Stewart Walters smashed the Subi bowlers to all corners of Lilac Hill to have the Monkey Towners on top.
The hosts posted 259, despite Andrew Holder continuing his fine season with 5-59.
The visitors finished 2-39 at the close of play, with Calum How out for 22 late in the day.
A stubborn Willetton frustrated ladder leaders Claremont-Nedlands in a grinding day at Cresswell Park.
The Dragons managed to put partnerships together without losing many wickets to post 241 from their 90 overs.
Jim Allenby worked hard for 3-32 from 20 overs, with Dan Turkich continuing his consistent year with 3-50.
University put in an inspired performance to be on top against Joondalup at Iluka Sport Complex.
Batting first, the Students looked in trouble losing two wickets early before Jay O’Brien (60) and Josh Mason (80) put on a 148-run stand to push the visitors towards a strong total.
A late collapse meant University could only post 222.
Joondalup finished 1-14 at the close of play, with Josh Dallimore making the breakthrough.
