LAND for high-rise aged care in Claremont and more apartments in Jolimont has been announced by State Government developer LandCorp today.
“Multi-storey or vertical aged care developments have been a feature on the east coast of Australia for some time, and are typically found in a near-city location with established amenity and ready access to public transport,” LandCorp chief executive Frank Marra said.
The 5473sq m of lot 506 at the corner of Graylands and Shenton roads is the second-to-last development at Claremont on the Park, and can be used for five storeys and at least 129 homes.

READ NOWMr Marra said high-rise aged care was being built because of the high cost and low availability of residential land in inner-metropolitan areas.
In Jolimont, LandCorp released 2628sq m for apartments at the Parkside Walk development opposite Henderson and Mabel Talbot parks.
The site’s development is a LandCorp-Cambridge Council partnership to convert the currently derelict nursery into homes.
Mr Marra said the site was large enough for 22 to 46 properties.
“Parkside Walk is close to great local amenities, such as public transport, shopping facilities and health and recreation centres, and it is in the catchment areas of Jolimont Primary School and Shenton College, and close to the University of WA,” he said.
Offers for the site close on November 23, while tenders for the Claremont land close on December 12.
