LEGACY will launch its Education Trust Fund with a concert featuring Rick Steele at the Indi Bar in Scarborough this month.

Money raised at the March 11 event will go towards education costs for Legacy wards.

Legacy president Peter Heeney said the organisation spent $100,000 putting wards through school and tertiary education last year but wanted to spend more.

“We support the wards through education until they’re 18, and 25 if they go on to tertiary education,” the Vietnam veteran said.

“We also do driver training for our wards.”

Yokine resident Rick Steele will headline the event that also features Minky and Rosco.

Legacy will celebrate its 90th birthday this year with a celebration at Crown Perth on Saturday, June 16. Tickets will be available in April.
