TWO local developers have secured sites at the former Shenton Park Rehabilitation Hospital.

The announcement was made earlier this week by Lands Minister Rita Saffioti.

TRG Properties in partnership with Primewest plans on building multi-generational housing, cafes and retail, while Fini Group will re-adapt the heritage-listed Victoria House into housing, retail and hospitality at LandCorp’s Montario Quarter.

Ms Saffioti said the announcement shows the exciting way forward for the Montario Quarter, and demonstrates how infill development can provide benefits to the whole community.

“The development of the first two sites will bring fresh amenities and opportunities for community activation to an underutilised piece of land in the heart of Shenton Park,” she said.

“The optimisation of Perth’s heritage train lines – Fremantle, Armadale and Midland – is a key element of the McGowan Government’s Metronet plan, and Montario Quarter is a good example of what we hope to achieve across the transport network.”
