EMERGENCY services workers will work through the night to recover the body of a man who drowned in a workplace incident at Mosman Park today.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) has brought in heavy lifting equipment to recover the man’s body after he fell into a ditch filled with water and wet sand around 2.30pm.
A Water Corporation tanker has arrived at the scene of the death in Harvey Street to remove the water from the ditch.
DFES spokesman Allen Dale said firefighters were making the four-metre-deep ditch safe with wood.
He said the recovery could last up until midnight.
Worksafe will investigate the incident and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
