METHODIST Ladies’ College (MLC) leavers took part in the school’s traditional beach swim, uniforms and all, at Cottesloe Beach today.
About 150 Year 12 students linked arms before running in to the surf where they chanted “leavers”.
The tradition started about 35 years ago when a small group of students decided to literally wash off their school days by running in to the water at Cottesloe in their uniforms.
Proud parents watched and took photos from the sand today.
MLC Year 12s will be allowed on the school site from 5am tomorrow for the annual muck up day before attending their final school assembly.
