A WINTER fashion parade presented by Mid 70’s Concept Boutiques in Applecross has raised about $8000 for the Friends of Cancer Council WA.

Mid 70’s creative director Nanette Carnachan organised the parade at Royal Perth Golf Club, showcasing a variety of designer clothing including a waterfall jacket from Amity and Unity.

The jacket, designed by Victoria Giacci and Denise Haffner, was put up for auction and contributed about $350 to the total funds raised.

Guest speaker for the event, Cancer Council WA Early Career Cancer Researcher of the Year 2018 Dr Chan Cheah, said lymphoma can effect people of ages so support of continued research is vitally important.

“The way to get access to new drugs is to do trials, there is no doubt about it, and things are heading in the right direction for Australia but continued support is definitely still needed,” he said.
