CHRIST Church Grammar School’s Midnite Youth Theatre Company is set to reel in the crowds with their latest production Big Fish.

Based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and film directed by Tim Burton, Big Fish tells the tale of Edward Bloom, a travelling salesman who lives life to the fullest.

Edward’s stories thrill everyone around him, but son Will, who is about to have a child of his own, is determined to discover the truth behind his father’s epic tales.

Director Gregory Jones said the production features an outstanding cast of 40 young performers from Christ Church Grammar School, John Curtin College of the Arts, Methodist Ladies’ College, Presbyterian Ladies’ College and St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls.

“It explores important themes of fatherhood and mortality and the difference between reality and fantasy,” Mr Jones said.

“With joyous music and fantastical characters, this musical provides an excellent vehicle for young people.”

The season runs from August 16 to 18 at the Regal Theatre.
