A THIEF hit the Gumtree seller of an Apple iPhone X to the ground during a robbery in Mosman Park on Sunday.

The thief and his two accomplices ran with the device from a Jameson Street, Mosman Park home about 3.50pm.

“Three male suspects attended the victim’s residential address to view the phone, with the possible intention of purchasing it,” Senior Constable Belinda Crafford said.

However, as the victim handed over the phone one of the thieves grabbed it and he, with the accomplices, ran towards nearby Manning Road.

The victim ran after the thieves, but one of the group turned on him.

“One of the suspects turned around and hit him in the face, and he suffered a broken nose, bruising to his face, and bruising and grazing to his elbows and knees from falling to the ground,” Const Crafford said.

The victim was taken by his friends by car to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital where he was treated before being released later.

There was no description of the thieves, but detectives are investigating.
