IT looks like a local fitness class might be the key to living longer.

Mosman Park resident Betty Jeans and Shenton Park resident Beryl Campbell celebrated their joint 90th birthdays on Wednesday at Shenton Park Community Centre’s Gold Fitness class, where Subiaco mayor Heather Henderson presented them with a certificate to commemorate the occasion.

The fitness fanatics, who both turned 90 this month, have been attending the City of Subiaco-run class since it began over 30 years ago.

Class instructor Maree Friebe said she was delighted to be celebrating the milestone with Ms Jeans and Ms Campbell.

“Betty and Beryl are wonderful, enthusiastic women who always make the class a joy to teach,” Ms Friebe said.

“It’s fantastic that the City of Subiaco provides these services to help keep seniors active and mobile as they get older.”
