ST HILDA’S Anglican School for Girls has announced its new principal for 2019.
Fiona Johnston, currently Head of Secondary School at the Australian International School in Singapore, will take over from Kim Kiepe, who departs at the end of 2018 to become principal at Somerville House in Brisbane.
Ms Johnston spoke in a video from Singapore about the upcoming move.
“I’m aware of St Hilda’s reputation for incredible academic success, but what really impresses me about St Hilda’s is the fact that it really develops the holistic development of each individual girl,” she said.
“What really excites me is looking forward and working with staff, students, parents, alumni and even prospective parents in really drafting as a community, collaboratively, what we want for St Hilda’s.”
Chair of school council Nita Peploe said Ms Johnston would bring a dynamic leadership style to the role.
“The council has absolute confidence that we have secured a leader of the highest quality for our school who will help to drive and guide the changes that will be required during the next decade as all forms of education continue to evolve rapidly,” she said.
Ms Johnston will move to Perth with her family in early 2019, and students, parents and old scholars of St Hilda’s will have opportunities to meet with her at a number of events in term one.
