Mt Claremont man charged with theft of computers from Morley home

IT is alleged laptop computers taken from a Barnsley Road, Mt Claremont house were found by police searching a suspected drug house in Benara Road, Morley.

“We will allege items located in a rear room were two Apple MacBook Air computers that were stolen from the Barnsley Road house, because they were matched by the serial numbers recorded by the owner,” Senior Sergeant Tony Booker said.

The computers’ owners were on holiday in South Africa when their house was burgled between noon and 3.25pm on April 26, after which police pulled over a car carrying a Morley man (44) in South Perth.

It will b e alleged a full syringe and a small bag of white powder was in the car’s footwell, and a subsequent search of the man’s Benara Road home found stolen property including the computers on April 30.

The man was charged with possession of heroin to sell or supply, possessing drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property, before he was remanded in custody to appear in court next month.
