Mums to run up funds for Telethon Speech & Hearing in Wembley

Jessica WarrinerWestern Suburbs Weekly

EIGHT mums from across Perth are joining forces to run for a reason.

The mothers all have a child with permanent hearing loss, and have decided to fundraise for Telethon Speech & Hearing in Wembley in support of the program which is helping their child learn to hear and speak.

“We are all battling through an often frustrating journey to ensure our children can learn to hear and speak,” their fundraiser page explains.

“But we aren’t alone in this; Telethon Speech & Hearing supports us every step of the way.”

All of the children are currently enrolled in the Chatterbox Program, an early intervention program for children with hearing loss which uses a multi-disciplinary approach to develop the children’s skills.

So far, the mothers’ group has raised more than $5600 for the cause.

They will participate in the HBF Run for a Reason in May.
