MANY things in the western suburbs have changed but one constant is Nedlands-based Blennerhassett Fine Jewellers.

Husband and wife team John and Susan celebrate their 30th anniversary on Thursday coinciding with the Western Suburbs Weekly 15th anniversary.

Mrs Blennerhassett who featured on the front page (pictured right) of the Western Suburbs Weekly 10 years ago on November 20, 2007, after she donated a piece to raise money for the restoration of St George’s Cathedral said she had loved her time in the industry.

“The business was started by my husband (qualified watchmaker and experienced manager) and I was hired as a manufacturing jeweller,” she said.

“We married in 1994 and became a partnership in both business and in life.

“People love that I am both designer and manufacturing jeweller, as well as being a woman, as I am aware of how jewellery is worn and feels.”

Having won multiple awards during her career Mrs Blennerhassett said over the years she had enjoyed training her staff and supporting various charities.

“I have fostered the skills and talents of apprentices and jewellers that have come to work with me over the years and have also encouraged them to enter their own pieces in competitions, with some earning first place and runner up,” she said.

“We have previously made special pieces for multiple charity auctions including St Georges Cathedral, Lexus Ball, as well as many local clubs and schools.”

Known for unique designs, Blennerhassett Fine Jewellers will celebrate their 30th anniversary with a special collection and will give away one of their pieces valued at $8400 to a loyal customer.

“An entry is offered for every purchase of a stock item over $100,” she said.

“On Thursday we are inviting all clients, new and old, to have a glass of champagne and view the new collection from 2pm onwards.”
