POINT Resolution Child Care Centre celebrated NAIDOC week last week, focusing on the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The children took part in activities including weaving, painting, dancing, singing and building and listened to dreamtime stories.
City of Nedlands Mayor Max Hipkins said the learning experiences broadened the children’s understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
“It promoted a sense of respect and celebration towards diversity,” he said.
The council also paid tribute to NAIDOC week, by flying the Aboriginal flag outside its administration office and acknowledging the week online.
