NEDLANDS Independent Living Centre has been given $2.4 million to continue a disability grants program to help disabled people across WA.
Minister for Disability Services Donna Faragher presented the Lotterywest cheque during a visit to the centre last week.
The grants program aims to assist people with disabilities to get equipment they cannot afford.
Independent Living Centre chief executive Gerri Clay said the grants helped to provide independence for disabled people through assistive equipment and technology.
He said many people had been helped through the grants so far and more would be thanks to the funding.
“This is what the Disability Equipment Program is all about,” he said.
“I would like to thank Lotterywest for supporting this important grants program and for making a difference to the lives of many Western Australians with disability.”
