RETIREES keen to stay active will have another avenue to do so, with a new Probus club forming to accommodate residents in Claremont and Swanbourne.

The basic purpose of Propuse is to provide opportunities for people to keep their mind active, expand their interests and make new friends.

With nearby clubs approaching or at capacity, Mt Claremont resident and Probus Association of WA vice president Marie Bolt said the new club was needed.

“It’s getting to the point where there is no room in the existing clubs,” she said.

The new club will be sponsored by Rotary Club of Freshwater Bay.

A meeting for people interested in joining the new Claremont-Swanbourne club will be held at the Claremont Lawn Tennis Club on Shenton Road in Claremont.

The meeting starts 9.30am on August 17.
