New date set for Claremont serial killings trial

AAPWestern Suburbs Weekly

A NEW start date for the Claremont serial killings trial has been set, with the judge who will preside over it saying he will not take a break until the entire nine-month proceeding is complete.

Bradley Robert Edwards, 50, has pleaded not guilty to all eight charges against him including the murders of 23-year-old Jane Rimmer, 27-year-old Ciara Glennon and Sarah Spiers, 18, in 1996 and 1997.

Edwards appeared in the West Australian Supreme Court on Tuesday via video link from Hakea prison and heard he would go on trial from July 22, not from May as previously flagged, as the legal teams need more time to work through their extensive preparations.
