Linda King, Fran Nicholson, Sheena Rooney and Elaine Dawson will join 350 teams and walk 100km in 48 hours along the Kalamunda Railway Heritage Trail before tackling the northern section of the Bibbulmun Track.

Ms Dawson said she and her team had already built the strong co-operation and communication skills needed for the event from working in healthcare.

‘The training time required is already bringing us together as a team and strengthening our friendships,’ she said.

Ms Rooney said the team had collectively travelled through counties such as Africa, India and Vietnam where poverty was the daily reality for many people.
