Each team member must raise $5000 before the April 1-5, 700km ride from Albany to Perth with money going to Youth Focus, which helps young people suffering from depression and their families.

Two members of the South Australian band lost a son to suicide.

Rider Alan Thomas, of Wembley Downs, said a friend from America who had lost her son to suicide and came to Perth as part of the grieving process prompted him to enter this year’s event.

Accountant Natasha Lie, of Hamersley, said she had dealt with farmers who were battling depression and looked forward to riding for a good cause.
