Denise S. CahillWestern Suburbs Weekly

SANDRA Devahasdin will donate one of her beloved vintage hats to this year’s Bindaring Sale.

The Perth businesswoman has purchased about 25 hats from a shop in Bridgetown over the past six years she has been attending the annual Blues at Bridgetown Festival.

“The first hat I bought was a cowboy hat and I wear it on the drive down there and don’t take it off all weekend,” Ms Devahasdin said.

She said her love for hats came from her gran in Scotland who also collected hats.

“She had this bedroom that was set up for guests and we weren’t allowed in there but I would go in to dust and try on the hats,” Ms Devahasdin said.

“I’d prance around the room wearing the hats.”

The 2019 Bindaring Sale, which raises money for Red Cross, is on Saturday, May 18 from 9am-3pm and will feature different sections – Op Shop, Emporium, Menswear Department, Boutique, Designer Edit and the Silent Auction.
