THERE will be no family hand-me-downs for Scarborough parents Victoria and Adam Bray’s newest addition, with baby Lillian Mary the first girl born into the family in 84 years.
Mr and Mrs Bray had chosen not to find out their baby’s gender during the pregnancy, so were pleasantly surprised when Lillian arrived on October 15 at St John of God Subiaco Hospital.
Their first-born child was a boy and they had expected the ‘family tradition’ to continue; the last female Bray was born in 1935, with 11 boys born into the family since.
Grandmother Lynn Bray said there was one person in particular who they could not wait to share the news with.

“She’s waited patiently her entire life for someone in the family to have a baby girl. We are so happy to finally have a beautiful girl in the family.”
