POLICE have charged four people with conspiracy to defeat the course of justice, stemming from an incident in which a man in his 20s was abducted and tortured last year.

In June 2017, four people – including a 51-year-old senior Rebels bikie – were charged with the abduction and torture of a man in his 20s.

Gang Crime Squad detectives continued to investigate the incident and have now laid new charges stemming from the original incident.

Police allege the four people – a 55-year-old man from South Perth, a 68-year-old woman from Bassendean and two men aged 29 and 52 who are in prison – conspired to thwart the justice process during the criminal proceedings of the June 2017 incident.

The four people will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday, November 21.
