PERTH-made short film Setting Them Straight this month screened as part of the 7th Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival.

Setting Them Straight is a comedy about a man who must come out as straight to his parents.

Created by filmmaking duo and mates Kaleb McKenna from Claremont and Brett Dowson from Carlisle, the film has already screened in the USA, Russia, Indonesia and most recently at the St Kilda Film Festival.

Director McKenna said the film was made two years ago and the two had grown as people and filmmakers in the meantime.

This year’s Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival featured 182 films from 53 countries.
