THE annual spring school holiday event is back with new attractions and quality showbags, starting tomorrow!

Since 1905, the Royal Agricultural Society held the Perth Royal Show at Claremont Showgrounds, and has no plans to relocate.

The hustle and bustle of this iconic WA show will soon start as doors open to the week-long attraction at 9am.

OUR SHOW ‘HACKS’

Save on show tickets by pre-purchasing online. Take advantage of discounted ticket days and times; kids will be half price on October 3 and on October 5 seniors will pay less.

Cheap tickets for Kiddie Land is on sale from 3-4pm each day and valid for use until 7pm that day. Show-goers can get two rides for the price of one from Gate 10 near Ashton Avenue.

Kids have the choice of riding the Storm, Runaway Train Rollercoaster, Fiesta Balloon Ride, Mini Ferris Wheel, Cup and Saucer, Taxi Jets or Jurassic Temple.

No need to find parking, with Transperth’s Family Rider and the train stopping right at the entrance to the Show. ACROD parking is available on-site.

Make sure to stop for a quick bite to eat at one of the many picnic tables or grassed areas located in the Showgrounds. The Perth Royal Show is one of the only venues that allows you to bring in your own esky filled with food and soft drinks.

WHAT’S NEW?

The Story of the Rainbow Serpent

See a 35m-long inflatable serpent lit from within with hundreds of individual LED lights around the Main Arena each evening just before the Flight Centre Fireworks Spectacular.

Produced specifically for this year’s show, Wagyl the Rainbow Serpent will light up the main arena each evening and bring the Indigenous Dreamtime story to life.

Discover WA

Previously known as ‘Walk Through WA’, the daily exhibit will allow visitors to experience and be educated about the state’s agriculture, horticulture and aquaculture.

Gold prospecting, cooking demonstrations and wool spinning also feature.

New rollercoaster

It will see riders seated in circular, free moving carriages, which rotate through 360 degrees as the ride climbs and falls through tight twisting turns and sudden drops.

Ningaloo Reef Experience

Jump aboard the mini-submarine Odyssea as it explores Ningaloo Reef.

The 180-degree dome theatre will take show-goers on an immersive underwater tour of one of WA’s greatest natural wonders.

Fro-Zone – #ItsSnowTime

A European ice-skating rink, toboggan slide, igloo disco domes and hot chocolate will bring a small slice of winter wonderland to this year’s Show.

Throughout the day you may even see some of your favourite characters take to the rink for short performances.

Monster Circus

Monster trucks and Monster Jeeps will present an exhilarating family motorsports experience.

A unique combination of family-friendly circus entertainment and the high-octane performances of monster truck stunt drivers can be seen every evening, on the main arena at 7.30pm and a short show at 1.30pm.

SHOWBAGS

Royal Show visitors will be spoilt for choice with 73 new showbags added to this year’s list, alongside returning classics and favourites.

The cheapest showbags for 2019 are the $3 Rip Snorter Brain Blaster Special and the Rip Snorter Little Ripper Special, both containing super-sour lollies.

Selected showbags will offer two for $5 such as Rip Snorter, three for $12 on all Nestle and Cadbury ranges or buy two get one free for Rock Candy ranges.

RIDES

$10 rides

Fly high on the Dream Swinger by yourself or with a friend or board the classic Gravitron and get glued to its walls at high force.

Race friends and family on a big track in Raceway Super Dodgems for a group activity.

For the thrill-seekers, the Super Nova ensures a stomach-churning, jaw-dropping experience.

Cheap rides

Enjoy a traditional favourite with the whole family for only $6 each while riding laps on the Galloper carousel.

See the Royal Show grounds from the sky in the Chair Lifts for $8 each in singles or pairs.

Ride on the Skymaster Ferris Wheel and see the city and surf, alone or with a small group in an open carriage, for $8 per person.

Experience the fun of Flight simulator, a virtual reality ride sure to impress at $8 each.

Cool off on the Show’s Splash Down waterslide that descends steeply with a splash. It’s fun for the family at $9 per person.

Ride the spooky The Big Ghost Train with the family or alone (if you’re brave enough!) at $9 admission to frightful fun.

DISPLAYS

Blacksmiths’ Association – Head to Heritage Hall to see items crafted out of iron from hard-working blacksmiths.

Official Opening Ceremony – Witness an Indigenous tale and a firework show as well as a 35m long illuminated serpent.

Name the three little pigs – Visit piglets at Name the Three Little Pigs. Find them in The Creatures Great & Small Pavilion and try name them.

Wood Chopping Events – Come see the axemen exhibit their skills in one of the most exciting daily attractions.

Animal Nursery – Visit the Animal Nursery for Goat Milking Demonstrations and see the farm animals – and don’t forget to ask Farmer Nigel any questions you might have.

Some of Farmer Nigel’s animals include cattle, sheep, alpacas, pigeons, poultry, horses, cats, and dogs. The grand parade is at 1pm daily.
