PART of a $450,000 Lotterywest grant from the State Government to the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) will fund half price tickets for children on Thursday of the Perth Royal Show.
Agriculture and Food Minister Alannah MacTiernan presented the grant to RAS president Paul Carter at Claremont Showground this morning where students from Clontarf Aboriginal College in Manning had fun with animals from Incredible Creatures in York.
A distribution strategy involving community organisations that support migrant and ethnic communities, seniors, Aboriginal Australians, people with disability and people from low socio-economic communities, will manage ticket allocations.

“This grant will help 38,000 Western Australians facing challenges with their entry to the show, to see first-hand the important contribution our agricultural sector makes across the state,” she said.
“We also want to support the thousands of volunteers who keep the royal show running each year, creating this great opportunity for hundreds of thousands of Western Australians to experience the joys of agriculture.”
The Perth Royal Show runs from September 23-30.
