Staff WriterWestern Suburbs Weekly

SEVEN years of buying Lotto tickets has paid off with good luck for one group of workmates from Belmont.

The start of the working week came a little bit easier for the engineering syndicate who were named as the lucky first division winners of last weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

The group purchased the winning ticket from The Lucky Charm in Canning Vale.

The group will share the prize of $574,474 and were already out on Saturday night when news of their good fortune came through.

The men said they felt shock and disbelief when one syndicate member called to let them know the good news.

“The news certainly helped us to celebrate a little bit harder,” one member said.

“I asked him over the phone if he was sure and he said he was shaking.

“I ended up checking the ticket around four times myself.”

The prize is set to go towards paying off bills, a new boat, and an array of holiday plans, with one member declaring he’ll be upgrading his planned trip to Europe.

There was two Western Australian first prize Set for Life tickets produced on Sunday.

Lotterywest HQ is waiting to meet the winners, who will both take home $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

The two tickets for Set for Life were sold at Glenview Lottery Centre in Ballajura and Lotterywest Membership online.
