YOU’D be forgiven for returning to bed and pulling the blankets back up this morning as the suburbs shivered through chilly temperatures.

While it wasn’t Perth’s coldest morning this year – it did reach 2.8 degrees in the city at 7.15am.

It was 2.4 at Perth airport at 5.44am and reached a chilly 2 degrees in Swan Valley.

Mandurah was the place to be this morning, it was a balmy 7 degrees.

It’s set to be another cold morning on Wednesday, with lows of 5 degrees predicted.

But it will warm up by Friday with clear skies and 22 degrees.

The rains are set to return this weekend – showers and thunderstorms are expected to settle in on Saturday and Sunday.
