Showers, possible storm headed for Perth

SHOWERS and a possible storm are headed for Perth after Tropical Cyclone Claudia weakened overnight to below cyclone strength.

Perth is humid and partly cloudy, with a 40% chance of showers in the morning and early afternoon.

The Bureau of Meteorology said there was a chance of a thunderstorm in the morning and early afternoon.

Light winds will become southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h in the middle of the day then turning southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h in the evening.

The sunshine comes back for the weekend with morning cloud clearing to a sunny day and a high of 31 on Saturday.

Sunday also has a high of 31, with a sunshine and zero chance of rain.

Easterly winds of 25 to 40 km/h shift south to a southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h during the day then become light during the evening.
