Perth workmates’ Lotto win beats Monday blues

Staff WriterWestern Suburbs Weekly

A SYNDICATE of workmates found the best way to beat the Monday blues, sharing in a $1.6 million Saturday Lotto prize.

The syndicate was one of 12 winners nationally to claim a share of Saturday’s division one prize.

The colleagues bought their ticket from Crossways News and Lotteries in Subiaco, and it was only the second time they had played Saturday Lotto.

The syndicate organiser found out they’d won just before they started work on Monday morning.

“I didn’t check the ticket over the weekend,” she said.

“The team was getting ready for work and this news hit them square between the eyes.

“They’ve been waiting for me to return to the office with something official from Lotterywest to prove that we have won.”

The syndicate was one of three WA division one winners on Saturday.

“This weekend, three WA Saturday Lotto tickets turned into a Division One prize, but to know a workplace syndicate will share the joy makes it even more special,” Lotterywest spokesperson Jennie Fitzhardinge said.
