Founder Michael Prendiville brought together four photographers to tell the stories about shelter volunteers, employees and the animals they help in an online portfolio.

Mr Prendiville said he was inspired to start Sheltered when his eight-week-old puppy became sick and he realised the incredible bond he had with his dog even after such a short time.

“Although there are many sad stories, they are far outweighed by the happiness found in these shelters. So many loving people generously donate their time to try and make a difference,’ he said.

‘Sheltered hopes to inspire animal lovers to join the cause by showcasing those who already have.’

WA photographers Alicia Cook from Dead Pixels and Alex Cearns from Houndstooth Studio snapped the pics at the Cat Haven and Dog Shelter, which are available at www.sheltered.com.au.
