Photographer and Shoulder to Shoulder co-ordinator Rick Bawden said he was expecting more than 500 images this year to create a photo book of about 120 pages.

Images were captured from 12pm on December 31 to 12pm on January 1, however Mr Bawden kept his camera clicking for more than 33 hours.

“I started in Fremantle on the beach and went to Karrakatta cemetery, North Perth and Canning Vale,” he said.
