Plenty of support for fete fundraiser cause

Staff ReporterWestern Suburbs Weekly

Principal Les Day said the fete, which runs every four years, was a celebration of what the community could achieve when it worked together.

‘The community of Wembley really supports its local school in ensuring the fete is a success not only in terms of raising funds for the school but it also provides an opportunity to showcase our community spirit,’ Mrs Day said.

‘We are very appreciative of the generosity and hard work of our parents and business in our local and wider community which support public education and Wembley Primary specifically.’

The Kindergarten and Pre-Primary group have been collecting thousands of preloved toys from the school community to sell at the toy stall.

Money raised will go to upgrading the audio system and filling in the ceiling of the undercover area, where school assemblies are held.

There will be food stalls, books and entertainment as well as children’s rides and a silent auction at the fete.

The event is on Saturday, November 8 at the school from 11am-6pm. Visit the Wembley Fete Facebook page or the website at wembleyfete.com.
