Police Constable Stood Down Following Multiple Criminal Charges

A POLICE constable (26) has been stood down from all duties after alleged offences in Northbridge and on the Mitchell Freeway, Osborne Park, late on December 18 last year.

A WA Police spokeswoman said the alleged offences occurred while the officer was off-duty but did not explain the circumstances.

The constable has been charged with criminal damage, two counts of common assault and an act likely to cause harm or injury.

He has also been charged with attempting to steal with violence, three counts of aggravated assault and assaulting a public officer.

He will appear at Perth Magistrates Court on January 27.
