Police hunt man after Kings Park abduction attempt

A MAN attempted to abduct a four-year-old boy at Synergy Park, May Drive, Kings Park between 3.30pm and 4pm on January 24.

Perth detectives said a family with several children were at the play park when adults saw a man pick up the boy from a crocodile sculpture, before the man put the boy on his hip and walked off.

The man was challenged by one of the adults and he put the boy down and walked to nearby cars.

He was described as being in his 30s, fair skin, about 177cm, slim and short light brown hair, while wearing a royal blue-coloured loose fitting polo shirt, knee-length loose fitting shorts and a white baseball cap.

Detectives said they wanted to speak to anyone in the park between 1pm and 5pm taking photos or videos because they may have inadvertently captured an image of the man.

They would also like to speak to the driver of a black Ford Territory on the side of the road adjacent to a nearby toilet block.
