Police investigate bomb hoax at Perth court

Perth’s Stirling Gardens court was evacuated yesterday as police and a detection dog were called in after a bomb threat.

Police say they received a phone call about 3.50pm Friday from an unknown person stating there were bombs in the Stirling Gardens court.

“Police resources were dispatched along with a bomb detection dog,” a police statement said.

“The court was not sitting at the time but the remaining staff self-evacuated while police searched the building with nothing of interest located.

“A police investigation remains ongoing to identify the caller believed to have made the hoax call. The building was cleared at 6.30pm with no threat to public safety.”
