Police say western suburbs motorbike and scooter thefts ‘may be organised’

POLICE suspect a spate of at least five stolen scooters and motorcycles from apartments, homes and offices in the western suburbs may be organised.

“Since a white Ford utility was seen at one of the thefts, it may well have been linked to others,” Senior Sergeant Julie Foley said.

The spate includes at least three motorcycles stolen from West Perth, including a white Honda taken from Collins Street offices on April 1.

In Shenton Park, a green and purple Kawasaki was taken from a Yilgarn Street house on April 2.

The utility was seen when a Vespa scooter was taken from the Hermosa Catina cafe, Cambridge Street, Wembley on April 2.

Sgt Foley said a scooter taken from a home in Caledonian Avenue, Maylands on between April 1 and April 2 may be part of the spate.

“We urge all owners of these machines, whether parked in car parks or on the street, to secure them and be vigilant,” Sgt Foley said.
