Police to step up patrols in Kings Park after spate of thefts from cars

Jon BassettWestern Suburbs Weekly

A BLACK 4WD is suspected to have been used by thieves stealing from tourists’ and cars in King’s Park this week.

“There’s been a suspicious black 4WD that has been nominated and seen during the day,” Senior Sergeant Craig Davis said.

The presence of the car has police concerned, after a spate of thefts of cash, cameras, valuables and passports from many tourists’ hire cars in the park, and adjacent Crawley and Nedlands foreshores, in the second half of last year.

Sgt Davis said there were three thefts from cars in the park and near Fraser’s Restaurant yesterday.
