Pregnant Prisoner Likely Still on Run In Western Suburbs

PREGNANT escapee Janya Williams (24) is probably still in the western suburbs area after she escaped from King Edward Memorial Hospital, Subiaco about 8.30am yesterday.

Police said Ms Williams was about four months pregnant and in the care of security officers from contractor Serco when she was taken from Bandyup Women’s Prison, where she was imprisoned for burglary and stolen property crimes, to the hospital for a check-up.

It was not disclosed how she escaped but Ms Williams was last seen walking on Railway Parade near the hospital.

She was described as dark skinned with dark brown hair, brown eyes, slim, and wearing a black hooded jumper, black shorts and pink thongs.
