READERS have voted overwhelmingly in favour of their preferred plan to redesign Cottesloe Beach.

So far 700 Community News readers have taken part in our poll, with 59% preferring the plan put forward by Kerry Hill Architects (WA).

“A form shaped by ocean forces” is among four designs on the table for Indiana at Cottesloe Beach, which were unveiled last week.

A further 19% of readers wanted a lick of paint, while a further 12% voted in favour of a rocky headland with saltwater pool.

Proposals for a landscaped ocean edge or landscaped terraces with pavilions received just 5% each of the reader pool.

The Minderoo Group, which is in the process of acquiring the restaurant, has released images of the four chosen designs.

Australian architects were guided by community ideas that included a beachside pool, arts and culture hub and a bigger variety of food and beverage offerings.
