Ritchie was named best suburban photographer for his 2013 portfolio, placed second in feature photography for his haunting image of ballet dancers at the City Beach Quarry Amphitheatre and his shots of Cavalia earned third in the photo essay category.

‘Considering there are some really good press photographers in Perth, to be among them and have a win is really good,’ he said.

Mandurah Coastal Times photographer Jon Hewson was placed second in the suburban category and was a finalist in the best portrait and best spot news print.
