Cottesloe MLA Colin Barnett opened the school's new purpose-built buildings in Mosman Park earlier this month.

Mr Barnett said he was delighted to open the new junior primary classrooms and administration buildings.

"Beehive Montessori School has started on a phase of growth and development and all the junior primary school buildings have been purposely built to support the school's teaching principles," he said.

"These are wonderful educational facilities which many students will enjoy and use to expand their learning and knowledge."

He presented the school with a jarrah and karri wooden flag-stand that was handmade by the Mosman Park Community Men's Shed, as well as a state and national flag.

"I hope the students, teachers and parents enjoy this flag stand, which is a wonderful example of the excellent craftsmanship that takes place at the Mosman Park Men's Shed," Mr Barnett said.

The second stage of redevelopment includes a new administration building, four junior primary classrooms, a new junior primary playground and car park.

Stage one, which included a new school hall, library and a central square, was finished in 2010.

The redevelopment was partly funded through a low-interest loan of $1.08 million from the Department of Education Services.
