SHENTON College students have collected more than 300 pairs of socks to donate to Perth’s homeless.
The school took part in the project Sox in the City with the Rotary Club of Freshwater Bay at the start of August.
Over two weeks Year 9 students donated warm socks to help get to the Rotary Club’s goal of collecting 4000 pairs.

READ NOWYear 9 Head of Learning and Community Gary Green said the school community really got behind the project.
“Shenton has developed a strong service-based culture, where students can make an authentic difference locally or be advocated for position global change within and international context,” he said.
“These align closely with our values of compassion, integrity and awareness of self and others.
“The students and parents got behind the project and were happy to donate pairs of warm socks for those in need.”
The Rotary Club of Freshwater Bay will collect the socks and distribute them at a station in the CBD.
