THE SHENTON Park Playgroup will open its gates this Monday for a family open day.
After running for almost 20 years, the playgroup has had a facelift, including a paint job, built-in dolls house and craft cupboard.
Shenton Park resident and playgroup secretary Lisa O’Neill attributed much of her sanity to the parents and children group.

READ NOW“I joined when my daughter was one and my mothers’ group had outgrown local cafes for catch ups,” she said.
“Having a space that is gated, has loads of things for the kids to do plus the opportunity to have a good chat with other mums with similar aged kids has been so important for our family.”
The playgroup draws children aged between newborn babies up to five year olds, with older siblings welcome during school holidays.
The February 26 open day will be hosted by the current committee of local mums from 10am to 12pm, with games, craft, a nut-free morning tea and plenty of time to explore all of the toys and playground equipment.
The Shenton Park Playgroup is located at 240 Onslow Road; enter from the rear laneway.
