ELITE Physiotherapy owner Michael Swan has set up shop in Subiaco after noticing there was no other clinic in the area offering exercise equipment and a physiotherapy service.
“There are a lot of physio businesses in this area but to differentiate yourself in the market it’s important this comes through service, and we make sure we deliver patient-orientated outcomes with the goals we set,” Mr Swan said.
The West Leederville resident previously worked at Fuller Fitness for nine years, a few blocks down from his new clinic.

“I’ve always loved the body and movement, and I have a background and passion for exercise and movement, you meet great people from all different age groups,” he said.
“I’ll have kids here or 80- year-olds, just people suffering pain or illness, and being able to sit with them and come up with treatment plans and then guide them to achieve their goals – it’s quite enjoyable and rewarding.”
Mr Swan played football with East Perth Football Club for 11 years and captained the team for seven.
He later combined his passion for the sport and worked as a physio for South Fremantle Football Club, where he met his colleague and the second physiotherapist at the clinic, Bronte Gorfin.
“I’ve been able to work with South Fremantle Football Club’s players and they have a strong desire to be their best, and to be able to facilitate their best performance; it’s been quite rewarding,” he said.
Mr Swan said his goal was to be a leader in injury prevention and management services.
“We’re always trying to grow, expand and develop.
“So far, people have been impressed with the facility,” he said.
