OLIVIA and Alex Stewart have bought their first business together in Subiaco, six years after meeting while working together in the same suburb.

The Maylands couple met while working at Pure Bar in 2012 and last year bought Louis Baxters.

“We always wanted to have a space of our own,” Olivia said.

“We also have an oven cleaning business but this is what we love.

“We both worked in hospitality while we were studying.”

The couple took over the Subiaco Square business in July last year and have spent the past six months making the space their own.

But one thing hasn’t changed – the name.

Louis Baxters was named about the previous owners’ pooches.

“People know the name and the changes we did make we slowly delivered so we didn’t intimidate people,” Olivia said.

“People are loving the new menu and the new coffee (Margaret River Roasting Company).”

Olivia said there was a strong community vibe in the area with regulars hailing from nearby office buildings and local streets.
